The egret was photographed at a San
Diego lagoon in April about two hours before sunset. A number of
egrets had congregated in several trees and were quite active.
The white color of the egrets
causes the camera light meter to incorrectly determine exposure. In this case, I was lucky that there was enough back
ground in the shot to render a correct exposure. A majority of
images were incorrectly exposed due to the predominant amount of white in
the frame. This problem can be solved with a spot meter if you are
only shooting egrets.
