With Windows Vista beginning to replace Windows XP, I felt that I had been totally betrayed by Microsoft.  Why?  Because spending gobs of hours upgrading my computer due to no-longer compatible software and being forced to spend considerable money on new programs that I will have to spend hundreds of hours learning, is really a waste of my time and really unproductive.  I am sue that I am not alone in having a real life other than consistently purchasing and learning needlessly modified software on a computer.

Why should I have to do this when my current computer and software meet all of my requirements. If I need new features, let me make my own decision to upgrade to the appropriate software upgrade without being forced to upgrade to software with unwanted features.

I decided to look at my current hardware configuration and critical software programs (*) to determine how vulnerable I will be in the near future. It's not looking very good.
