Flying Duck

There are several very respectable bird photographers making world class images on a consistent basis.  Subsequently, it's a daunting task to capture bird images that are a little different.

I've heard other photographer's lament that just about every bird picture has already been taken. This belief could hold true for almost any subject including portraiture or sports and yet, there is a steady stream of fresh new images, sometimes you just have to look a little harder to find them.

Technology for the amateur photographer has made the Flying Mallard image possible with a 80-400 vibration reduction lens. The exposure is unknown but I generally shoot this type of subject at  F7.1 with ISO 400 negative film.
