Winter Rose
Photographing a rose in the middle of winter is not your not typical subject in most of the U.S. at this time of year. However, in Southern California, many varieties of rose continue to bloom. There is a natural beauty to roses that are beginning to fade.
On this particular day in winter, the lighting on this little rose was perfect. Sunrays shone thru it like it was translucent. The background was also colorful and interesting. By clicking on the image at left, you can view a few other photographic interpretations of this little rose.
Exposure is unknown but I generally shoot this type of subject at F16 depending on wind. The lens was a 200 mm micro.
