Leaf Abstract
This month's image is one of several images of patterns of leaves in a summer garden at Descanso gardens. The reason for posting this photo in winter is that a recent visit to the garden revealed that the entire garden had been cultivated into a bulb garden. Not a trace of the summer garden is left.
The summer garden looked so permanent. My understanding is that it will be back next summer. This seasonal contrast is a shock to Southern Californians where most plants grow year round.
Walking thru the garden, this pattern image was not self evident and could have been easily missed. I was scanning the garden with a 500 mm lens before discovering the pattern.
