Not quite spring, not quite winter, late May was about 2 to 3 weeks premature. Fortunately, there were some very dynamic lighting conditions. Many photographers focus on composition although lighting may be even more important to the success of an image.
This photo was taken with an 28-70 F2.8 zoom lens. The sun was perfectly positioned to create a slight back light effect. I used a 3 stop soft neutral graduated filter . In fact, the graduated ND filter may have been invented due to lighting conditions in Yosemite.
