Cheetah Run
Wild Animal Park in Northern San Diego County has added a new program named Cheetah Run. It really is a unique experience to watch a cheetah run about a hundred yards on a small track. For persons who have never seen a cheetah up close, the experience is awesome. For photographers, it's a little less so since the USDA has required the placement of a 4 foot tally fence separating the guests from the cheetah.
I positioned myself at the end of the 100 yard long track so I could photograph the cheetah at a distance. The image above was taken with a 80-400 VR lens and is highly cropped. As the cheetah gets closer, the small fence will begin to interfere with the image.
