Seascapes are one of the more exciting scenics to shoot. The surf pounding the shore and the vibrations reverberating through the ground add a little extra thrill to the experience. At the same time, shooting waves does take some patience since waves break in sets and there might be a half hour delay between large sets. The same is true for surfing photography.
The shot above was taken after a hurricane hit the west coast of Mexico. There was absolutely no wave action the day before. I typically shoot scenics with a 12 megapixel DSLR and 28-70 F2.8 zoom lens on carbon tripod.
