Couldn't make it up to the Eastern Sierra this year to shoot autumn color so when I saw a post on the internet that there was limited autumn color at Palomar Mountain in Northern San Diego County, I decided to check it out. It was at least a 2 hour drive and I seemed to have missed the peak color by about two weeks. However, there were a number of oak trees whose yellow and green leaves were glistening in the sun.
I plan to go back to Palomar Mountain next November at the correct time and visit areas of the park that I did not have time to visit this year.
The shot above was taken with a 12 megapixel DSLR with a 200-400 F4 lens on carbon fiber tripod.
