Founders Grove 1
The monthly image was taken in Founder's Grove and is the 2nd selected from Redwood National Park . The forest floor offers multiple opportunities to photograph ferns and ground cover including ferns and redwood trunks.
The most fun images are taken early in the morning before the sunlight can reach the ground.
I used a 24-70 F2.8 lens at F8 on a carbon fiber tripod and ball head to capture the image above. No special exposure compensation, just the default setting for matrix metering.
