Road America

Although Luiz started in the second to last poll position and failed to finish the race, this is perhaps my best image and was taken at Friday's warm-up session.

Traveling 140 MPH+ , the car is tact sharp and the wheels blurred.  The foreground is solid green without visible barriers.  One degree to the rear of the car is a concrete bridge, one degree in front are signs.  Due to the high degree and accuracy of panning required, this is one of only a couple of successful images from this position.  Note the visual clearance between the car body and the track.  Taken with a 500 mm lens on a monopod at a shutter speed of 1/800 th of a second at F4.

The image was captured at the top of Thunder Valley on other side of bridge (1-1 on map).  To view additional images, click here.
