A view of 50,000 tulips all blooming at the same time is quite inspiring.  The challenge is to capture the experience.  My first reaction is to try to capture an image of all 50,000 tulips. While possible, especially with a large format camera, this task is a little more daunting with 35 mm equipment.  I always try to shoot an overall view but then try to focus on just a few tulips.  Of course, you run the trap of leading the viewer to believe that there were only a couple of tulip plants at the location.

The image was taken with a 200 mm micro lens.   Mounted on a carbon fiber tripod, I generally shoot this type of image between F8 and F16 depending on depth of field desired and let matrix metering determine the shutter speed.
