Beauty is where you find it.
A trite statement but there weren't any obvious photo
opportunities at the time this image was captured. I was
slowly walking thru a garden in San Diego in late December and
most of the vegetation had succumbed to the typical mild
Southern California winter. I noticed a Silk Floss tree
with mostly flowers well past their peak and noticed this
beautiful flower and leaf grouping in a beam of sunlight and
surrounded by a dark background.
I always rip off a number of
images from different zoom lengths and even change angles.
I will then go back and re-shoot all of the images a second
time. It's amazing how many times that the second round
of images produces a noticeable improvement.
The image above was captured on a
D2H with 200-400 VR zoom on carbon tripod with ball head.
